Buccaneers News · Girls Golf Team Off To Best Start In School History

The Xenia Lady Bucs Golf Team is off to their best start
in school history.  The Ladies returned a veteran team of
5 players from last season, and added a returning player
from two seasons ago.  The Girls currently sit at a perfect 8-0,
and possess two of the top three low averages in the Miami
Valley League.  Senior Olivia Wagner and Junior Brynna Mardis average
40 strokes per nine holes.  Earlier this season Mardis broke the school
record for a low nine hole score with a 34 on the par 36 back nine at WGC
Golf Course.  Seniors Darby Nolen, Grace Bond, and Eliana Berryman, along
with Junior Stacie Baxley complete the squad and have all contributed
in the scoring this season.  “It’s been a great team effort.  Each match, someone
comes through with a low score that helps us win.  Our season low team score
of 168 vs. Greenville Tuesday was a true example of that.  Darby and Grace both
shot in the 40’s and we’ve several matches where Stacie has scored as well”, said
Coach Kent Anderson.  The Lady Bucs take a little break before they return to the
course Monday Sept. 14th for a home match on Senior Night vs. Troy at 3:30 p.m
