Buccaneers News · WMS Boys’ Track Wins Shawnee Invite!


On Wednesday, April 17th the Warner Middle School track team competed in the Shawnee Invitational. It was a great night of competition, and the Boys’ team came home with the 1st place trophy, winning the meet with a total of 103.5 points. The girls’ team was also successful and left the meet earning 3rd place overall out of 12 teams. Some highlights from the meet included:

Girls Team:

1st place in both Shot and Discus: Kennedy Lucas

2nd place in Pole Vault: Martha Dodge

5th place in High Jump: Makayla Baumgardner

2nd place 100 M dash: Janell Tarver

2nd place 200 M Hurdle: Amarie Withers

5th place 200 M and 4th place 400 M dash: Tatum McIntire

5th place in 1600m: Sarah Scarborough

5th place to both the 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams.

Boys Team:

1st place in 4×100, 4×200, Shot (Landon Partee), and High Jump (Shawn Thigpen)

2nd place in the 200M (Tremell Wright) and 400M (Keyonta Bailey)

3rd place in the 100M (Maurice Pigue), 400M (Tremell Wright), and the 200 M Hurdle (Trei’shaun Davis-Sanders)

4th place in the 800M (Ethan Henry) and 200M (Keyonta Bailey)

5th place: 200 M Hurdle (Ramon Browder)

4×200: Tawfig Jabbar, Shawn Thigpen, Keyonta Bailey, Maurice Pigue

4×100: Tremell Wright, Tawfiq Jabbar, Keyonta Bailey, Shawn Thigpen
