The Bucs girls bowling team has everything in place to be one of the best teams in the Dayton area for the upcoming season. The Bucs will be led by the returning dynamic duo of Junior Caity Moody and Senior Kailee Palecek. Last season, Moody average was 202 and was a first team GWOC American league pick and GWOC South Bowler of the year. Senior Palecek averaged 198 pins last year and was a first team all-conference Bowler. Kailee was also a first team all GWOC American League selection. Other returning key members of the varsity squad would be Senior Gillian Miller, Sophomore Kelsey Rose and Senior Shayna Caraway. Sophomore Gracie Howell should also give a boost to the Buccaneers squad.
Last season the ladies were crowned GWOC south champs and finished fourth out of 20 teams in the GWOC post season tournament. They also finished in first place in the Viking classic during last season.
The boys bowling team returns a wealth of experience for the upcoming season. The Bucs return three bowlers who averaged more than 190 pins a game last season in Senior James McDaniel, Senior Cameron McPherson, and Junior Zane Eneix. Three other bowlers also return with varsity experience including Trace Howdyshell who averaged 183 last year. Sophomore Dalton Hinders and Junior Samuel Bahorik also were in last years rotation. The team also adds an impact freshman in Aaron Adkins. The boys hope to improve upon their second place GWOC South finish and fourth place postseason GWOC tournament finish as they start the 2018-2019 winter season.
