This weekend saw an outstanding performance by Warner Middle School 8th grade wrestler Mason Capps. Mason was victorious in the 150 pound weight class at the Beavercreek Invitational. The two-day tournament featured 21 teams from all over the area, with each weight class touting an impressive 24 man bracket. Capps was seeded 4th going into the tournament, and defeated both the #1 and #2 seeds on his way to the finals. Capps clinched the tournament with a victory by pin in round 2 of the championship match. In addition to Capps’ stellar performance, 8th Grade HWT Andrew Oney took fourth place. Overall, it was a great weekend for the WMS wrestling program! The Bucs close out their season on Saturday, February 10th at home as they host the Xenia Invitational Tournament at Xenia High School. Go Bucs!
